Many thanks to Fr Ioan, Antonio Brailescu and Florin Murgu who very recently returned to the parish with Holy relics of St Stephen the Protomartyr, St Antony the Great, St Dimitry of Salonica, St Catherine the Great-Martyr, St Menas the Great-Martyr and St Nectarios. It was possible to acquire them on permanent basis for our parish, for our veneration! We feel very blessed to have such relics!

NEW PARISH RELICS: THE SLIPPER OF ST SPYRIDON
Sunday 25 June 2023
St Spyridon, whose holy relics can be venerated in Corfu, is called the 'walking saint' because of the way his slippers wear out every year, even in repose. His slippers are thus replaced regularly.
Following a recent pilgrimage to Corfu by members of the parish, it became possible to attain one of these very slippers. We received the Holy Relic on Sunday 25th June and, after the liturgy, an Akathist to St Spyridon was read and sung in three languages.
By the grace of God, the parish feels honoured and blessed to have such a relic! We thank everyone who helped in making this happen.
Holy Hierarch Spyridon, pray to God for us!

NEW CHURCH SIGN
10 May 2023
In honour of the fact that the late Queen in one of her last acts made Colchester a City, we have had a new sign made. It bears the coat of arms of the City of Colchester, which dates back to 1413. It shows St Helen with the Cross of Christ that she found in Jerusalem, a Roman centurion (representing national importance - Colchester was the Roman capital before London), an oyster fisherman, representing local people, and the three crowns of the Martyr Edmund, King of East Anglia. Its motto reads ‘No Cross, No Crown’, meaning that if we do not take our cross on ourselves, we will not receive the crown of salvation.
