BY TRAIN

The church is a 9 minutes’ walk from Colchester Town railway station, which is itself a short train ride (11 minutes) from Colchester’s main railway station (Colchester station). Colchester station is on the main line between London and Norwich. Buses are also available from Colchester station.

BY CAR

If travelling from London, follow the A12 and, at junction 27, take the A133 exit to Colchester. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A133. Then follow signs to the A134 for the next 4 roundabouts. After the 4th roundabout, turn right onto Military Road. The church will be up the road, on your left.

If travelling from Ipswich, follow the A12 and take the A1232/A120 slip road to Colchester/Ardleigh/Harwich/Clacton. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Ipswich Rd/A1232 and stay on the A1232 for the next two miles. At the big oval roundabout, take the 2nd exit to stay on Ipswich Road, then at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto East Street. At the lights, turn left onto Brook Road. At the next lights, go straight onto Wimpole Road. Finally, at the next lights, turn right onto Military Road. The church will be on your right.

See map below.

PARKING

Some parking spaces are available on the church site, although they can fill up quickly. The church also has a car park on Lisle Road, on the right-hand side (for directions, click here). Failing that, there are parking spaces in neighbouring roads (subject to any applicable parking restrictions). When parking, please be considerate of our neighbours.

FACILITIES

There is a children's room and a meeting room on the left of the church (through the doors near the choir). Parents may take infants to these rooms if necessary to avoid disrupting the service. There are also toilets and baby changing facilities at the front left-hand side of the church.

In addition, there is a chapel at the front of the church through the doors on the right.  This tends to be used for week-day and Saturday evening services (subject to some exceptions).

Separately, there is a church hall (a low-rise building to the right of the church) which is used for gatherings on certain feast days and other special occasions.

SUNDAY SCHOOL AND OTHER GATHERINGS

SUNDAY SCHOOL - Every other Sunday, after the Liturgy

Children are welcome to attend our Sunday school, which lasts for approximately 30 minutes, every other week during the school year (with some exceptions). The lessons are provided by DBS-checked teachers who explore different topics in each session. New children are welcome to join any time.

ST ALBAN'S CIRCLE - After the Sunday Liturgy in English

Every Sunday after the liturgy (with some exceptions), Fr Andrew offers parishioners a talk, with questions and answers, on a chosen topic. All are welcome.

CHURCH SHOP

There is a small shop at the back of the church (behind the candle desk) with icons, crosses, books and other items for sale.
